Montepulciano d’Abruzzo “Anfora”
Situated in a tiny village in the Abruzzo region, Francesco has not only succeeded in creating a vineyard but an entire agricultural concept. Here, the vineyard coexists with animals, fruit trees, olive trees, and other crops. The wine in question is made from Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, fermented in terracotta amphorae. These amphorae are buried, following the Georgian tradition. This winemaking process imparts a powerful character to the wine without making it heavy. The use of amphorae helps soften the tannins and adds finesse to the wine’s structure.

Cirelli La Collina Biologica
Upon waking up, Francesco can admire the Adriatic Sea to the east and the “Gran Sasso” massif to the west. It is in this magical environment that Azienda Agricola Cirelli is born. The estate is located in Atri, in the Abruzzo region of central Italy, which boasts a rich viticultural heritage. Unfortunately, this region often goes unnoticed in favor of better-known regions and appellations. However, Abruzzo offers some of the most interesting wines in Italy because they are often made from indigenous grape varieties. The variety of grape varieties in the region allows for exceptional wines in all colors. Francesco has decided to approach these grape varieties in two ways. The “Collina Biologica” range is designed to enhance the elegance of these grape varieties through vinification in stainless steel tanks. The second range, “Anfora,” aims to create powerful and intense wines while maintaining the elegance and characteristic tension through aging in terracotta amphorae.
