Description

Mornen Noir “Mine de Rien”

Never heard of Mornin Noir? That’s perfectly normal. This rare grape variety, a distant cousin of Chasselas, intrigues with its originality. Although it is a red grape, it has all the characteristics of a white wine. On the nose, it reveals delicate aromas of fresh fruit, while its structure, completely devoid of tannins, offers an incredible lightness and digestibility. A sensory experience as unexpected as it is fascinating.

Déplaude de Tartaras

Welcome to the Deplaude Family, Winemakers from TartarasIn the small village of Tartaras, nestled north of Ampuis, in the heart of the Giers Valley, the Deplaude family proudly continues a beautiful winemaking tradition. Here, the vines are more than just grape plants; they tell the story of the land, a story that this family strives to bring to life with each vintage.

You’ll find iconic Rhône varietals alongside grapes from other regions that have adapted well to the local soils. Even more impressively, the Deplaude family has made it their mission to revive forgotten ancient grape varieties, and it’s a real joy to rediscover treasures that time had almost erased. Among these gems are the Chouchillon, the ancestor of Viognier, making a strong comeback, and the Mornin Noir, a lesser-known cousin of Chasselas. These ancient, nearly lost grape varieties are brought back to life here thanks to the passion and dedication of the Deplaude family, offering wines with a unique history and character.
