Montepulciano d’Abruzzo “Riserva” D.O.C
Prezza, from the Latin “Praesidium,” refers to both the village and the estate of Antonia and Ottaviano. As the last winemakers in this tiny village nestled in the mountains of Abruzzo, they skillfully perpetuate the regional winemaking tradition. Their red wines are powerful and structured, leaving the cellar only after aging for at least four years. This approach aims to harmonize and soften the incredible power of Montepulciano from these terroirs.

Praesidium
Arriving in Prezza, one wonders if in this small village lost in the mountains of Abruzzo, there could be a cellar. Indeed, the village of Prezza, with its very narrow streets and truly difficult access, seems to indicate that the GPS has misled us and that Preasidium must be elsewhere. However, Antonia and Ottaviano will signal that you have indeed arrived. Preasidium is the only cellar in Prezza, which in Latin is called Preasidium (hence the name of the cellar).
The adventure began in 1988 with Enzo and Lucia, Antonia and Ottaviano’s parents, with the aim of producing wines reflecting the very particular terroir of this part of Abruzzo. The watchwords at Preasidium are typicality and patience. Indeed, the reds do not come out before a minimum rest of 4 years, and all the wines are produced with the utmost respect for the terroir and the wine, without any additives, except for a micro-micro-dose of sulfur at bottling.
